Ask a Librarian

Register

  1. Click SIGN IN TO MY EBSCOhost.
  2. Click I'M A NEW USER and fill in the fields.
  3. Click SUBMIT.

Log In

  1. Click SIGN IN TO MY EBSCOhost.
  2. Follow screen directions and click LOGIN.

RSS Feeds

  1. Click orange CREATE RSS FEED ICON in results for bar.
  2. Copy the SYNDICATION FEED link.
  3. Click EDIT ALERT if you want to change settings.
  4. Click OK.
  5. Open your feed reader and paste the Syndicated Feed link. Example: in Bloglines (www.bloglines.com), click on MY FEEDS/ADD, paste the copied link into BLOG OR FEED URL box, click SUBSCRIBE.

Saved Searches

Save Search History (to rerun later)

  1. Click SEARCH HISTORY/ALERTS.
  2. Click box of desired search.
  3. Click SAVE SEARCHES/ALERTS.
  4. Fill in boxes on screen.
  5. Select SAVED SEARCH (PERMANENT).
  6. Click SAVE.

Use Saved Search History

  1. Log In.
  2. Click FOLDER.
  3. Click SAVED SEARCHES.
  4. Click RETRIEVE SAVED SEARCH for desired search.
  5. Click RERUN under Actions.

Modify Saved Search History

  1. Log In
  2. Click FOLDER.
  3. Click SAVED SEARCHES.
  4. Click box by desired search history and DELETE ITEMS.
  5. OR, Click RETRIEVE SAVED SEARCH.
  6. Click REVISE SEARCH.
  7. Follow Save Search History (to rerun later) instructions.

Email Alerts

  1. Log In.
  2. Search.
  3. Click SEARCH HISTORY/ALERTS.
  4. Click box of desired search.
  5. Click SAVE SEARCHES/ALERTS.
  6. Fill in boxes on screen.
  7. Select ALERT.
  8. Fill in boxes.
  9. Click SAVE.

Modify Email Alerts

  1. Log In.
  2. ClickFOLDER.
  3. Click SEARCH ALERTS.
  4. Click EDIT ALERT to change formatting; RETRIEVE ALERT to revise search, or click box by search and DELETE ITEMS to delete alert.

RefWorks and EndNote

Use software's References/Add new Reference Features to copy and paste parts of citation into appropriate fields.
