Beth Harper, the Government Documents & Reference Librarian in UW–Madison’s Memorial Library, wrote up a guide to help library users during the federal government shutdown. Federal agencies that are physically shut down have also taken their websites offline. In the guide, Harper and other librarians provided some workarounds for library users such as sources for Census data since the Census Bureau is offline. The guide also provides databases for Congressional publications and more options of where to find data and statistics.

The guide is here: Government Information During the Federal Shutdown.

If you have any other questions for where to locate federal government information online during the shutdown, please email Beth Harper at bharper@library.wisc.edu.
