Moving Citations from ACS (American Chemical Society) Journals into RefWorks

In an ACS Journal

  1. Locate the desired citation in an ACS journal.
  2. Click in the box next to desired citation.
  3. Click on Download Citations (at the top of the page).
  4. Select desired citation content under Include.
  5. Click Download Citation(s).
  6. Click Save.

In RefWorks

  1. Login to your RefWorks database if you have not already done so.
  2. Click References and Import at the top of the screen.
  3. Select BIBSYS (RIS Import Format) from the Import Filter/Data Source drop-down menu.
  4. Select All Databases from the Database drop-down menu
  5. At the Import Data from the following Text File box click the Browse button to select the file name of your saved records.
  6. Click Import.

Your citation(s) will automatically be imported into the Last Imported Folder.

You may now view your records and move them to the folder of your choice.
