Moving Citations from Beilstein/Gmelin Crossfire into RefWorks

In Beilstein or Gmelin

  1. Display citation hitset.
  2. Click Export Hits on the menu bar above the record display.
  3. Click Citations - Procite-Endnote-Reference Manager.
  4. Click Start Export.
  5. Click in the radio button to select desired records for download.
  6. Click Start.
  7. Identify your disk drive and filename plus the extension .txt (plain text) in the File Name Box.
    Example: a:myfile.txt
  8. Click Save.

In RefWorks

  1. Login to your RefWorks database if you have not already done so.
  2. Click References and Import at the top of the screen.
  3. Select BIBSYS (RIS Import Format) from the Import Filter/Data Source drop-down menu.
  4. Select All Databases from the Database drop-down menu
  5. At the Import Data from the following Text File box click the Browse button to select the file name of your saved records.
  6. Click Import.Your citation(s) will automatically be imported into the Last Imported Folder.

    You may now view your records and move them to the folder of your choice.
