Find a Book by Title
- Click on MadCat.
- The MadCat link is located on the Libraries Web Site.
- The Search wil open in the Basic Search mode.
- In the Search For box, type in the title of the book.
- Omit initial articles (a, an, the, la…) when you type in the title.
- Punctuation and capitalization are not necessary.
- In the Search By box, select Title Search
- Click on Search.
- Click on the link for the title you need.
- If you are not sure which one is the title you need, use other information about your book such as the author or date of publication to help you select.
- There may be several editions of the book you want. Usually you will want the most recently published edition.
- Clicking on the title takes you to the full MadCat record.
- Write down the location and call number for the book you want.
- Be sure to write down the complete call number. You will need this in order to find the book on the shelf.
- Go get the book you want.
- To find out the library's location, click on Where is this Location?
- To find out where in the library your book is shelved, look for a stack guide as you come into the library.
