Find a Book by Title

  1. Click on MadCat.
  2. In the Search For box, type in the title of the book.
    • Omit initial articles (a, an, the, la…) when you type in the title.
    • Punctuation and capitalization are not necessary.
  3. In the Search By box, select Title Search
  4. Click on Search.
  5. Click on the link for the title you need.
    • If you are not sure which one is the title you need, use other information about your book such as the author or date of publication to help you select.
    • There may be several editions of the book you want. Usually you will want the most recently published edition.
    • Clicking on the title takes you to the full MadCat record.
  6. Write down the location and call number for the book you want.
    • Be sure to write down the complete call number. You will need this in order to find the book on the shelf.
  7. Go get the book you want.
    • To find out the library's location, click on Where is this Location?
    • To find out where in the library your book is shelved, look for a stack guide as you come into the library.
