Join a gallery talk given by the exhibit co-curators Lyn Korenic of Kohler Art Library and Tracy Honn of Silver Buckle Press on Thursday afternoon, May 30th. Text Support: A Library Exhibit About Paper covers a range of paper-related topics: The History of Handmade and Commercial Paper and Wisconsin-Related Industry is on display in Special Collections, 9th fl., Memorial Library; Paper Engineering is on the Library’s 2nd floor; and the Kohler Art Library is featuring Handmade Paper with Wisconsin Roots.

Text Support: A Library Exhibit About Paper

This spring, UW-Madison Libraries will present a multi-library exhibit and series of programs on the subject of paper. The exhibit Text Support will illustrate the history, production and use of paper. The exhibit title acknowledges the inseparable and essential role paper has played in the history of printing. As we discuss the future of the book in a digital age, a reconsideration of paper is timely. Venues include the Kohler Art Library and Memorial Library’s Department of Special Collections, and Silver Buckle Press–2nd floor hall cases.

2013 Friends Semiannual Book Sales
Wednesday, October 16 — Saturday, October 19
The largest used-book sale in Wisconsin includes literature, history, children's books, science, art, philosophy, reference texts, foreign language books, and more. Videos, DVDs, CDs, and LPs are available. All sales are open to the public. The Fall 2013 Book Sale will be held at 116 Memorial Library.
Fall hours are:
Wednesday, October 16
Preview Sale: 5—9 p.m. ($5 entry)
Thursday and Friday, October 17—18
Regular Sale: 10:30 a.m.—7 p.m. (no entry fee)
Saturday, October 19
Bag Sale: 10:30 a.m.—1 p.m. ($4 per bag)
Bring your own grocery bag or purchase one for $1
From 1:05—2 p.m. the remaining books & items are free
