Welcome Raina Bloom!
College Library is pleased to welcome new late-evening librarian Raina Bloom to the staff. Raina, who previously taught at the UW-Milwaukee School of Information Studies, is one of two librarians who work at the Information Desk from 9pm to midnight on Sunday through Thursday evenings. In that capacity she answers all types of questions (via phone, email, chat, and in-person) while supervising circulation and reference student assistants.
Raina is actually returning to UW-Madison; she received her undergraduate degree in English from the UW in 2001. A student of early 20th century British and American writers, her undergraduate thesis was entitled, “Joyce’s Labyrinth: The Interpretive Implications of ‘Wandering Rocks.'” Raina has also worked at libraries at Marquette Univeristy and UW-Milwaukee and we’re certain that her experience and enthusiasm for working with undergraduates, in addition to her commitment to information literacy, will make her a valuable addition to College Library. If you see her, please take a moment to welcome her (back) to campus.
