Finals Events
As is tradition, College Library and its campus partners once again tried to ease the stress of finals by bringing some fun into an otherwise anxiety-filled week of exams. Relying on old favorites, including coloring pages, button-making, etc., library staff spent less time organizing theme days and, instead, took a more casual approach to this semester’s activities.
This more spontaneous mindset was facilitated by some unexpected giveaways – including a visit from the UW-Madison Men’s Basketball Team and their coach who distributed candy to students in the library on Study Day, December 16. The following Monday, Dean Lori Berquam was on hand to give away dozens of pizzas to students hunkering in the library to escape the -25°F wind chills.
Scheduled events included:
- December 15
- Free coffee, tea, and hot chocolate courtesy of Open Book Café from 7 p.m to 12 midnight
- December 16
- GUTS Study Day with free snacks for those stopping by for tutoring, 1st Floor Center, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
- December 19
- Dogs on Call, 1st Floor Center, 4 to 6 p.m.
- December 20
- Healthy Snacks courtesy of University Health Services
