Academic Resource Fair
On Wednesday, October 2, from 3 to 5 p.m., College Library welcomes a number of campus partners to an academic resource fair on the library’s 2nd floor and in its Computer Lab, Room 2250. The event, with help from the First-Year Interest Groups (FIGs) and the Center for the First Year Experience (CFYE), provides students with the opportunity to meet staff and learn about a number of support services available at UW-Madison. Also in attendance will be representatives from several campus libraries showcasing how their services and resources can affect student learning.
The organizations committed to participating include:
- College Library
- Computer Labs (including hardware checkout)
- Constellations
- Cross College Advising Service
- DesignLab
- GUTS (Greater University Tutoring Service)
- History Lab
- Physics Learning Center
- Software Training for Students
- Special Collections, Archives & Mills Music Library
- Statistics Learning Center
- Steenbock Library (including BioCommons)
- UHS (University Health Services)
- University Housing · Tutoring
- WISCIENCE
- The Writing Center
An added incentive to attend is the promise of free food. Insomnia Cookies is donating a variety of their treats for the event and additional study-break snacks will be on hand. Other activities include a Retro Photo Booth, where participants have the opportunity to insert themselves into a historic campus photo and leave with a perfect social media post. For those wanting to express their affiliations with some flair, College Library’s button-makers will also be on hand.
Stop by and get a head-start on success! Or, if you can’t make the fair, find an online representation of the resources on the Undergraduate Advising website. In either case, you’ll be able to say that you #studystrong!
