Heather Gautsch to Depart
Heather Gautsch, security officer at College Library, will be leaving the General Library System after five years of service. Heather is well-known by staff and students who spend evenings at College Library, as she has maintained a safe space at the library Sundays through Thursdays from 5 p.m. to 1 a.m. She has also assisted with security services at Memorial Library and Steenbock Library as necessary. Heather’s last day is Tuesday, April 26, 2022.
Heather is making this transition to focus on finishing her degree in graphic design through Southern New Hampshire University and continuing her creative work as a writer, photographer, musician and more. You can follow her work in this area by looking for @poeticveteran on most social media and streaming platforms.
College Library is grateful for the flexibility Heather demonstrated during the ever-shifting building hours and security needs throughout the pandemic. She was one of many onsite staff who contributed to scanning for interlibrary loan and reserves when the Libraries were closed for public access. In these past two years, she navigated the many changes to library services, moving furniture and helping in a variety of ways to meet new service models.
We wish Heather the best in all future endeavors.
