Undergraduate Research Award Recipient
Each year the UW-Madison Libraries offer an Undergraduate Research Award to support and celebrate excellence in undergraduate, library-based research. Undergraduate students who intend to make creative and intensive use of library resources as part of a semester or year-long research project (capstone, independent study, thesis, performance, exhibit, etc.) are encouraged to apply. Members of the committee, including Raina Bloom (chair) and Kelli Hughes of College Library, along with Jessica Newman and Angel Tang of Steenbock Library, are pleased to announce an an Undergraduate Research Award reception on Wednesday, May 11th from 3-4 pm.
The reception will include introductions and an overview of the award process, followed by a presentation and performance from this year’s award recipient, Allyson Mills. Allyson will present on her project A Revolutionary Composer: An Analysis and Performance of the Songs of Anne Louise Brillon de Jouy, a presentation that will also include a performance of works by the 18th century French composer. There will be time for questions after the presentation and light refreshments will be served.
The reception will take place at the French House at UW Madison, located at 633 N. Frances Street, just two blocks from Memorial Library. For those who prefer to attend remotely, a Zoom link is available. The session will be recorded for those who are unable to attend.
