College Library is hiring for the position of Overnight Supervisor. This person will work closely with College Library’s Reference and Circulation Coordinator and spend their time supporting student workers, implementing security processes, helping users, and coordinating with the Curricular Content Librarian on reserves and streaming content. Because College Library is a collaborative environment, the staff that work in this position develop perspectives on overnight operations that are critical to shared decision-making about library priorities and processes. The Overnight Supervisor is vested with broad discretion to make decisions in the moment – a trust we strive to support through continuous training, professional development opportunities, and collaboration with colleagues.

The Overnight Supervisor works Sunday through Thursday, 10pm to 6am during fall and spring semesters. (Note that an additional $.80/hr pay differential is added to each hour of work done between 6pm and 6am or on Saturday and Sunday.) The position moves to more conventional daytime hours during winter intersession and summer months. Hours during these periods can be hybrid and are open to negotiation, contingent on library staffing needs.

In addition, the person in this position will work closely with the Curricular Content Librarian to support the course content needs of students. They will be trained to process requests from instructors for course reserves and streaming media, to communicate with instructors regarding their requests, and to engage with the policies, processes, and procedures related to course content.
