Borrow, Renew, Request

University of Wisconsin students, staff, and faculty must present a valid UW ID card in order to check out library materials from the College Library Circulation Desk, Reserve Desk, or the Computer Lab Desk. All other patrons must present a Community Borrowing Card to check material out.

Loan Periods

Most College Library items follow the standard policies described on the UW-Libraries Borrowing Policies page. The following loan periods differ from those standard policies.

Non-standard loan periods for College Library items

• Board Games – 14 day loan with renewals
• Lockers – 24 hour loan with no renewals
• Magazines – In building use only
• Reserves Material – 2 hours is standard. Some Reserve items loan for 3 days but these are a minority of special cases (like GRE test prep books). Reserves can not be renewed but may be checked out again after a 15 minute wait.
• Tool Library – 7 day loan with no renewals
• Video Games – 14 day loan with renewals
