About the Collection

Books

The Journalism Reading Room has a small circulating collection of books about journalism and mass communication.

To find books available in the JRR:

1. Go to the Library Catalog
2. Click on Advanced Search
3. Click Library under Limits
4. Click UW-Madison, then Journalism Reading Room and then All Locations
5. Your search will now be limited to only items in the JRR

Journals

The JRR also keeps a collection of journals. Click here for a list of all of the journals the JRR holds. Please note that some journals are by donation only. To find the coverage dates of a particular journal, please search for the title in the Library Catalog.

Newspapers

A small collection of local newspapers is also available for in-house use in the JRR, including The Badger Herald and The Daily Cardinal. Other newspapers can be accessed online through the UW-Madison Libraries catalog.

Technology & Equipment

The JRR holds a collection of audio/visual equipment that students in certain Journalism classes may borrow. Podcast equipment, desktop computers, a scanner, and a printer are also available to use. Visit our Equipment page for more information.
