To reach Memorial Library from University Avenue, turn north onto Lake Street. Memorial Library is at the corner of Lake Street and State Street, and faces the University Bookstore building. The closest public parking is the City of Madison State Street Campus Ramp on North Lake Street between State Street and University Avenue.

Parking close to the east side of campus is available at the city’s State Street Campus Ramp, located north of University Avenue at 400 N. Frances Street.
As of December 27, 2023, the Lake Street side of the parking garage is permanently closed for the construction of a new mixed-use property.

Metered public parking is quite limited in campus lots and ramps. Please view hourly parking for options.
Many Madison Metro bus routes get close to Memorial Library. The closest routes are usually the 4 and 6, and for campus routes, the 80. Use 728 State Street to plan your route.
Memorial Library is close to the bike trails and paths and has bike racks along Lake Street and Library Mall. During warmer months, there are several B-Cycle stations within blocks of Memorial.
