KIC Overhead Scanner

This overhead scanner is located on the 4th floor of Memorial Library, just off of the main elevators.

It can scan books and documents in black and white or color, can save them as PDF, JPG, or OCR PDF, and can send them to an email address, save to a USB drive, or download to your phone via QR code.

Quick Start Instructions

  1. Place your book or document on the scan bed.
    • Optional: choose a document type on the screen under step 1.
  2. Touch SCAN.
    • Optional: adjust additional scan options like resolution by touching the GEAR icon.
  3. Answer the copyright question. The document will be scanned and will appear on the screen.
  4. Continue pressing SCAN for each new document.

Saving the Scanned Documents

Send your scans to an email address

  • Touch EMAIL on the screen.
  • Enter the email address and touch SEND. May take several minutes for the files to arrive at the email address.

Save your documents to a USB drive

  • Insert a USB drive in the port at the upper right corner of the screen.
  • Touch Save images to USB drive.

Download your documents to your phone

  • Click MORE in the lower right corner of the screen.
  • Select QR CODE in the right column.
  • Grab the resulting QR code with your phone.

Advanced Options

  • To adjust scan options (like resolution) you can select the GEAR icon at any time.
  • To adjust file format options (like PDF, JPG) click on MORE in the lower right corner of the screen.
