The Pro Arte Quartet: Barker’s book is here!

Mills Music Library is pleased to announce the arrival of The Pro Arte Quartet: A Century of Musical Adventure on Two Continents, a new book by John W. Barker, Emeritus Professor of History at University of Wisconsin-Madison, published by University of Rochester Press. Barker visited Mills Music Library regularly during the years he worked on writing about the Pro Arte leading up to the quartet celebrating its centennial in 2012, for which he provided a historical overview in the commemorative booklet The Pro Arte: A Century of History and Legacies, and he continued to make use of our holdings as he finished this book.
