Kanopy no longer available

Kanopy, a video streaming platform offering over 30,000 films, is no longer available to current students, faculty, and staff. Kanopy’s business model is unsustainable for UW-Madison Libraries, and so we canceled the subscription we started in 2016. We are working on a plan to replace some of the lost Kanopy content.

If you attempt to access Kanopy via the Video list in Database Library, clicking View Online will take you to a page declaring Resource No Longer Available.

If there are specific films you were using Kanopy to view, or were planning to view via Kanopy, please submit your request for those titles to Tom Caw, who is happy to help you gain access to whatever you wish to view and/or hear. We continue subscribing to other streaming video databases, such as Docuseek2 and Films on Demand, and we continue acquiring DVDs.
