Second, Third, and Fourth Folios of Shakespeare’s Plays
Once you’ve seen the First Folio exhibition at the Chazen Museum of Art (opening on November 3 as part of Shakespeare in Wisconsin 2016), we invite you to visit Special Collections for our own exhibit exploring understandings of the globe and the global in Shakespeare’s time. The exhibit features
- our own copy of the Second Folio edition of Shakespeare’s plays (1632), alongside another copy of the Second Folio lent by Special Collections, Golda Meir Library, UW-Milwaukee
- a Third Folio (1664) lent by Special Collections and Rare Books, Loras College Library, Dubuque, Iowa
- a Fourth Folio (1685) also lent by Special Collections, UW-Milwaukee
together with many 16th- and 17th-century works on natural history and exploration from our own holdings.
Our exhibit, like the Special Collections reading room, is open Monday-Friday 9 am-5 pm.
