Last Few Days to See the First Folio at Chazen Museum of Art
We want to urge you to take advantage of the last few days of the exhibition of Shakespeare’s First Folio at the Chazen Museum of Art. This historic visit to Wisconsin of a First Folio from the Folger Shakespeare Library’s collection ends on Sunday, December 11, 2016: click here for details about the exhibition, “First Folio! The Book That Gave Us Shakespeare.”
You have longer to see the associated exhibit in Special Collections — “The Globe/Global in Shakespeare’s Time” — on display in 976 Memorial Library through January 27, 2017. The Special Collections exhibit features Second, Third, and Fourth Folios of Shakespeare, along with other books from Shakespeare’s time that speak to understanding of the globe and global in the 16th and 17th centuries. We also offer you the opportunity to sit down in our reading room with books (from our own holdings) printed in London in 1623, the same year that the First Folio was published. Special Collections, including the reading room and exhibit, is generally open Monday-Friday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. (see a detailed schedule, including our holiday hours).
