International Open Access Week, Oct 23-29
International Open Access Week provides an opportunity to appreciate the efforts promoting access to knowledge by highlighting the “open” actions making scholarly and educational materials freely available to educators, learners, researchers, and the public.
As part of our efforts to support these open initiatives, we invite you to join us for a moderated panel with UW-Madison scholars on their experiences with open access, open research, and this year’s Open Access Week theme, “Community Over Commercialization”. This panel discussion will take place on Monday, October 23, (1:00-2:00 PM) in the Chemistry North Tower, Room 2401. Light snacks and refreshments will be provided.
Panelists Theresa Delgadillo (English & Chican@/Latin@ Studies), Eric Hoyt (Media & Cultural Studies) , and Dave O’Connor (Pathology & Laboratory Medicine) will explore values of openness and the challenges and opportunities of centering community in the scholarly infrastructure.
