Winter Break, Building Hours & Online Access

As you enjoy your winter break, be sure to also satisfy your need for information with a visit to the Libraries’ Website. Even when you are away from campus, simply select the resource you need to use from the site. Library resources that are licensed for your access will prompt you to log in with your NetID.

If you plan to visit campus during the winter break, please note that our libraries will be open, but hours of operation will vary from the academic semester. Plan ahead and confirm hours of building access for your library destination.

Steenbock Library will be closed from December 23 until January 1; while staff availability may be limited during this time, you can contact us by sending a message by email (asksel@library.wisc.edu) or Web form. General library queries can also be placed using Ask-a-Librarian services.

Should you need to return books and other print materials, the exterior book-drop (on the wall to the right if facing the Steenbock entrance) will remain open. Information about loan periods can be reviewed by logging into your Library Account; online renewal options will appear there, by item, if available.

Monday – Friday: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Saturday – Sunday: CLOSED

Note exception; the library will be CLOSED the following day:
Monday, January 15, 2024 (Martin Luther King, Jr. Day)

Classes for the spring term begin on Tuesday, January 23, 2024.
