Happy Halloween from the Libraries!
There’s a lot of Halloween happenings around the UW-Madison Libraries this week!
Memorial Library “Haunted Folklore and Tales of the Supernatural” Exhibit
You can’t miss the large-as-life exhibit that is up on the first floor of Memorial Library, in the book checkout desk area. Snap a photo next to one of the beautiful historic images and learn about all that the Libraries have to offer in the way of folklore texts and images.
#SpookyUW
The popular social media thread is back this year with more campus lore, haunted places, and creepy images (so many scary clowns!). Follow #SpookyUW to get it all delivered to your Twitter feed.
Movie at Steenbock
Calling all movie buffs and green thumbs! Steenbock Library presents a showing of Little Shop of Horrors, the campy cult classic from 1986.
You have two chances to catch the film – 7:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. in the area near room 119. Snacks provided!
Pumpkin Contest at College Library
College Library hosted its annual guess-the-pumpkin’s-weight contest this week. Voting closed on Tuesday, but the most monstrous of fruits is still on display.
Haunted Libraries
This series from the Britannica Blog pulls together some of America’s spookiest libraries, broken down by region. According to the article, College Library is one of them (although it’s misnamed in the article as Memorial Library)!
